SOIL IMPROVEMENT

In Uganda agriculture is the source of livelihood for 90% of the country’s population of which 95% are poor small scale farmers who can barely afford fertilisers. The decline in soil fertility due to soil nutrient depletion, erosion and new unpredictable rainfall patterns has reduced food production and the ability of households to generate food and income.  We are encouraging sustainable replacement of additional nutrients to soils in order to boost crop yields in areas with severely depleted soils, scarce organic resources and inadequate water
